    The three-member town board of Rolando Galindo, Terry Smith and Shad Brackin met on Sept. 13 and covered many items of business. One important item is all town residents are asked to make sure their house numbers are posted on their residence so that emergency vehicles can figure out where they should go in the event of a 911 call.   • Woods County Excise Board approves three budgets

    The Woods County Excise Board must review and approve each budget submitted by governmental agencies in Woods County. Wednesday morning, Sept. 20, only three budgets were ready. The Northwest Technology Center general fund budget of $9,816,456.40 and building fund budget of $3,704,056.39 were approved. The Woods County Health Department budget of $687,353 was voted okay, and the Town of Freedom Budget of $157,508.18 was approved.     Freedom Public School welcomes back cross-country for first through 12th grade students. What started out as eight runners has attracted 22 participants. Coach Germany has high expectations for his runners this year. Participants are required to work out after school by running two miles on three to four days a week.     This year Freedom Public School has added cross-country back into the athletics program. Coach Germany is having the team train almost daily by running two to three miles. He will also add speed training and hill training. There will be about 16 students on the cross-country team from elementary to high school, with six meets overall.
