    In 1927 Lawrence Arndt and Zelma Arb married, and the following year they began a family that would include 11 children and 47 grandchildren. Now, 91 years later, their descendants and cousins of their descendants still gather each year for a reunion to celebrate one of the greatest gifts: family. This year’s Arb-Arndt reunion was held at the Alva Recreation Center on Sunday, Sept. 2, with 78 in attendance.     The Golbek—Shearer reunion was held at the Alva Senior Citizen Center on Aug. 26. Saturday evening supper was at The Other Place for those from out of town and local ones that wanted to attend and visit early. This reunion started back in 1954 at the Reuben and Thelma Golbek ranch south of Selmon, Oklahoma, for the celebration of Ernest and Hattie Shearer's 50th wedding anniversary.     A supplemental grant from the Federal Aviation Administration will be discussed during the Alva Regional Airport Commission meeting Monday. The meeting is set for 7 p.m. in the terminal building. The airport commission was made aware of the grant opportunity by the Garver representative. There will be discussion of the AIP project to expand the apron around the terminal and reconstruct a taxiway.     An Alva man apparently didn’t appreciate law enforcement intervention in a domestic disturbance. Kent Rene Bearden, 59, of Alva, has been charged with four felony counts in Woods County: two counts of assault and battery on a police officer and two counts of prisoner placing body fluid on government employee. The first two counts are punishable by a fine of up to $500 or imprisonment for up to five years or both. The final two counts are punishable by imprisonment up to two years and a fine up to $1,000.     A head-on collision took the life of an Alva man Friday afternoon. Colby Christopher Bouziden, 25, was pinned in his vehicle before being freed by the Alva Fire Department using the jaws of life. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The collision occurred at 4:22 p.m. on U.S. Highway 64 a half mile west of County Road 500 on Sept. 6. The location is four and one-half miles east of Alva.     A Woods County warrant has been issued for an Alva man on a felony firearms charge. Samuel Lee Garrett, 49, has been charged with feloniously pointing a firearm. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for one to ten years.     On a rainy Friday, the Alva Goldbugs traveled to Watonga to take on the Eagles. The teams had not met for around seven years.
