  • What would Jesus do?

    Rev. Nathan Hosier|Aug 28, 2020

“What would Jesus do?” is an expression that was coined by Charles Sheldon in 1886 in Topeka, Kansas. (I just learned something.) I remember it becoming popular when I was growing up. You can still find the bracelets, hats and other items with the letters WWJD on them. There were movies made based on them also. They are good to watch. In the world we live in, it seems that we need to be asking ourselves this question more often. I see things being shared on social media that shouldn’t be share...

  • Spiritually Speaking: Ungodliness

    Dr W Jay Tyree|Aug 28, 2020

What passage of scripture has the greatest amount of ungodliness? Perhaps Jude’s quotation from one of the most ancient of the known prophets would be a contender. Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about them: “See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to judge everyone, and to convict all of them of all the ungodly acts they have committed in their ungodliness, and of all the defiant words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” These people are grumblers a...

    Roger Hardaway|Aug 28, 2020

Jeanne Calment of Arles, France, made world news in 1997 when she died at the age of 122. That made her the world’s longest-lived person since records have been kept. Or did it? Some people were always skeptical about Calment’s supposed age. Recently, researchers have posited a theory that – if true – debunks her legend. Calment was born in August 1875 into a fairly wealthy family. When she married, she and her husband (who was also born rich) lived a rather upper-class lifestyle with servant...

The new goal states that "foll...
