Rev. Harold Henson, Cedar Grove Wesleyan Church|Apr 13, 2018

Over the last month, a video has surfaced, and gone viral, of a man cutting up his AR-15 with a chop saw. His point was that he was going to destroy this weapon so that it could never kill anyone. With the weapon cut up into pieces, it was now incapable of being used to take a life. It was, at least according to him, destroyed. This weapon was rendered incapacitated. This has nothing to do with gun control, and I do not want anyone to draw a connection between what I am about to say and the gun debate. I use this image, because that is exactly...

  • Spiritually Speaking

    W. Jay Tyree, College Hill Church of Christ|Apr 13, 2018

On Tuesday of this week, I had the honor of teaching on Jesus’ trial before Pilate and the Messiah’s eventual execution on the hill of Golgotha. Though we didn’t have the time to go into great depth concerning each of the things Jesus said while on the cross, we did get to notice a few of the “last words” of the dying Savior. The utterances that demanded my greatest attention are usually listed early in the list. Perhaps hours before Jesus cried out to the Father “Why have you forsaken me” or admitted his physical thirst, declared the...

  • Stressed out kids

    Arden Chaffee|Apr 13, 2018

“Today’s kids are too stressed.” We hear that with each succeeding generation. But now we add the crazy-busy schedule that seems the norm and the stranglehold that technology imposes. It’s hard to shield kids from the unexpected when they know the minute something happens.
