    Paul Cole, Town & Country Christian Church|Feb 8, 2019

You may have had someone correct you many times as a child but you did not appreciate it. But as an adult, you may greatly appreciate it. The parent or adult that chastens you did you a great favor by helping you to see what is right and hate the wrong. Maybe as an adult, you have an inner circle of friends and loved ones and maybe even a mate who speaks words of wisdom into your life. You really do not care hear what they are saying but you know that you need their words of wisdom. Sometimes a...

  • Spiritually Speaking

    W. Jay Tyree, College Hill Church of Christ|Feb 8, 2019

This morning in class, I was talking about myself again. Today’s story centered around the idea of the “weak will.” Most of us have found ourselves in a situation (or two) when we knew the right thing to do but just couldn’t come up with the will-power to do it. And so it was in eighth grade that I found myself in the principal’s office being reminded, via the seat of my pants, that I should stop making excuses and turn in my homework. I recounted the conversation between Coach Fortenberry and my mom that took place immediately after he finishe...

  • White gold

    Arden Chaffee|Feb 8, 2019

“Up from the ground came the bubblin’ crude, black gold, Texas Tea.” Great news for the Clampetts, soon to be the Beverly Hillbillies. As the demand for alternative fuel vehicles grows, so does the demand for “white gold.” This gold isn’t meant for jewelry but instead comprises the chief ingredient in lithium carbonate, refined to build lithium-ion batteries. These liquid-cooled miracles of electron storage are found in modules, integrated into the floors of cars such as the Tesla, Audi e-tron...

  • Random Thoughts

    Roger Hardaway|Feb 8, 2019

One thing I like about the internet is that it allows me to waste countless hours in the mindless pursuit of absolutely nothing! And I’m getting pretty good at it. Whenever I decide to retire, I know that I will never get bored as long as I have a computer! One of my favorite websites to visit has job openings for those who seek employment in higher education. Since I have such employment already, I am not looking for work but, rather, I am just keeping myself knowledgeable about trends that m...
