    The 12th Annual Cattleman's Tour Trade Show and Social will again be held on Friday evening, Aug. 11, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Parish Hall in Sharon, Kansas. The trade show and social hour will open at 5 p.m. The famous Cattlemen's pit barbecue beef will highlight supper, which is served at 6:30 p.m. Concluding the evening will be the benefit auction to support the scholarship fund and other community service projects of the Barber County Cattlemen's Association.     The Barber County Cattlemen's Association will hold their annual meeting on Monday, March 20, 6 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Medicine Lodge.   • Tractor Safety Training Course

    The Hazardous Occupation Training, more commonly known as the ATractor Safety@course, will be offered again this year for youth who intend to operate farm machinery. If you are 14 or 15 and plan on driving a tractor for someone other than your parent or a legal guardian, you MUST take this course in order to protect the farmer you will be working for. These pocket record books are an invaluable recordkeeping tool as well as having some excellent SPA performance analysis templates. There are a limited number of books and they are available free of charge on a first come, first served basis courtesy of the Barber County Extension Council.     The Barber County Cattlemen’s Association will once again be offering scholarships to local high school seniors and college age youth. Scholarships will be at least $500 each and are available to any Barber County resident, individual attending high school in Barber County or individual with parent(s) operating an agricultural endeavor within Barber County.
