The Woodward District Livestock Show was March 1–6 with the premium sale on March 7. This year the Waynoka 4-H and FFA had seven members make the premium sale. The Waynoka FFA held their annual Ag Olympics on Feb. 26. There were five teams with four FFA members, two nonmembers and a faculty member on each team. The events this year were the round bale roll, the square bale relay, the post drive relay, the square bale throw and the cake pellet toss. The Waynoka Local Livestock Show was Saturday, Feb. 9. The show started with the goats. The Grand Champion Doe Goat was shown by Makenzie Smith, Grand Champion Wether Goat went to Tayen Redgate and Reserve Grand Champion Wether to Brooke Ferguson. The Northwest District 4-H and FFA Livestock Judging Contest was held on Jan. 30 in Enid at the Garfield County Fairgrounds. The Senior FFA team placed third overall, which included Kellen Allison, Traben Redgate, Brooke Ferguson and Tayen Redgate. Kellen Allison also placed sixth high individual in that division. On Monday, Jan. 28, the Waynoka 4-H and FFA held their annual trophy auction at the Waynoka Schools multi-purpose building at 6:30 p.m. A silent auction was available to browse and bid on throughout the evening. The evening began with a great meal catered by Klein's. After the meal, the live auction began with many items up for bid. This Christmas season, the Waynoka FFA chose two angels from the community tree. Each member donated $10 toward the items to give to the angels. Kori Allison volunteered to go pick out the items. Then the members wrapped the gifts and delivered them to the drop-off location. This was a great opportunity for the FFA to give back to the community. n Monday, Nov. 26, the Waynoka FFA and FCCLA chapters joined forces to collect food for the Waynoka Food Pantry. As usual, they made a game out of it. The members split up into five teams of four with an adult chaperone. Each team was given a list of food items to collect and they went from house to house asking for the food items. On Nov. 6 four members of the Waynoka FFA traveled to Oklahoma Panhandle State University to compete in the FFA interscholastic contest. The livestock judging team placed second overall. Kellen Allison was the fourth-high individual, Traben Redgate was sixth-high individual and Brooke Ferguson and Austin Rankin tied for eighth-high. On Oct. 30, Waynoka FFA held a Halloween party with 22 students present. They enjoyed pizza and dessert and then had a team pumpkin carving contest. The teams were divided by class and each team chose a farm animal to carve. The eighth graders won this contest with a chicken carving. The evening was rounded out with a scavenger hunt. The same teams were given riddles to solve to find the next clue. Once they found the clues, they took a picture to prove they had been there. The juniors were the winners of the scavenger hunt....
The Waynoka FFA was well represented at the Woods County Fair, Oklahoma State Fair and Tulsa State Fair. The Waynoka chapter entered over 45 items not including livestock entries. They won the sweepstakes plaque at the Woods County Fair. At the Tulsa State Fair they placed fourth in the Ag Mechanic Sweepstakes and ninth in Crop Sweepstakes. Twenty members of the Waynoka FFA Chapter left April 30 after school and traveled to Oklahoma City. After a nice meal they headed to Topgolf for a little fun before two big days of learning and growing. The State FFA Convention was held on May 1 and 2 at Cox Convention Center.
