    The Alva Goldbugs senior football players – Kennedy McKnight, Chase Jones, Ethan Harzman, Austin Shklar, Justin Meyer and Hayden Colwell – have gone to Longfellow and Lincoln to eat lunch on home games.     The Alva Goldbugs played the Fairview Yellowjackets on Friday, Sept. 16. The first quarter was rough for both squads as neither team was able to capitalize on opportunities. Fairview was the first to strike with a rushing touchdown on their second drive of the quarter. The Goldbugs made a huge defensive stand when Fairview's quarterback ran up the middle to the 3-yard line, only to be stopped by Alva’s Austin Shklar when he made a perfect tackle and forced a fumble.   • Lincoln Math-a-thon

    Math-a-thon is a fundraiser at Lincoln Elementary that only requires $1 to participate. The students raise money based on how many math facts they get correct. The school then will use the funds for activities such as gift cards for study island, payment for the ice cream machine, AR parties, playground equipment and admission to the NWOSU plays and Oklahoma Science Museum/Science Live program.
